You guys, IT'S HERE! Our wonderfully luxurious new King Size mattress was delivered yesterday and I am on cloud nine. You see, for the last 4 years, Anthony and I have been sharing the full size, memory foam mattress I've had since high school. Did I mention Anthony is 6'4"? Yes, we were long overdue for an upgrade.

Anthony met me at the store a few weeks before Christmas to try out mattresses. We settled on the Serta Perfect Sleeper Brookshaw in Plush. We've only slept on it one night, but so far we really like it! It's firmer and more supportive than the (admittedly worn out) memory foam we were sleeping on before, but still has a comfortable amount of cushioning.

We had it set up in the front bedroom so it will be out of the way as we start the renovations in our Master. On Sunday night, this room was completely empty save for an air mattress on the floor and Anthony's bass guitar in the corner. I surprised him by setting up the room with furniture and accessories we already had to make our temporary sleeping quarters feel a little less temporary.

I know the art above the bed is too small and the curtain rods are all wonky and the panels are in need of some serious ironing and hemming, but you know what? We still slept like babies in this room last night. Also, I only photographed 2/3rds of the dresser because the bottom two drawers are missing their knobs. I'm going to quote The Nester here and say,

"It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful!"

I love the minimalism is becoming a trend in interior design. It makes quickie, one-day decorating projects like this possible! It's a great way to refresh your home without spending any money. I had so much fun that this has me thinking...

What could you do with one room in one day using ONLY things you already have?

I'm challenging YOU to channel your creativity and try your own one day makeover! You don't have to start with an empty room, like I did. Pick any room to redecorate and shop your home for furniture and accessories to make it feel brand new! Share your before & after on Instagram using the hashtag #OneDayDecorChallenge.
